Principle Pseudomonas agar is described by King, Ward and Raney (1954). Pseudomonas agar is composed of tryptone, gel peptone, potassium sulphate, magnesium chloride and agar. Tryptone and gel peptone is source of carbon and nitrogen and other essential elements for the growth. Potassium sulphate and magnesium chloride stimulates pigment production. Agar is a solidifying agent. The Glycerol is added in the medium, as an excess carbon source. |
