IconCut® SmaI is expressed and purified from E.coli that carries the recombinant SmaI gene. The molecular weight is 29.7 kDa, with the recognition site at CCC^GGG The reaction is conducted for 5-15 minutes at 25oC, and heat-inactivated at 65oC for 20 minutes. This enzyme is not sensitive to dam, dcm, but sensitive to mammalian CpG methylation.
